>Trump's energy policy has also encouraged Ukrainian kinetic sanctions against Russia's refinery capacity where Biden was too beholden to Russian oil to keep global crude prices in check. Trump has also heavily tariffed Russia's partners like India and China.
Yeah. We could probably send more weapons, but I think this is a tougher approach to Russia compared to Biden even if it might not seem that way because Trump shook hands with Putin in Alaska.

>Remember a couple decades ago Hugo shamed USA but giving our old poor folks cheap heating oil when prices were spiking?
Well, first of all, the collapes in commodity prices caused the Venezuelan economy to collapse. Second of all, Maduro is no Hugo Chavez. You can say a lot of things about Chavez but nobody can deny he lacked charisma. Maduro... does not have that. Besides the Venezuelan government doesn't even have a commitment to that populist-socialist stuff anymore, the people in Venezuela who represented that part of Chavez's coalition bolted a long time ago as the government turned into a more bizarre, more criminally incompetent / rigged kleptocracy that suddenly now talks a lot about Jesus and is really only stanned now by the dumbest online tankies because of their foreign policy. It has gotten so bad that left-wing parties that used to be part of the coalition (to the left of the PSUV), are now part of the opposition, with the PSUV literally replacing their candidates on the ballot with Maduro like it's a cartoon satire of a rigged election.
