Venezuela has done similar for automotive fuel for pretty much all Latin American, here and there. Correct, Islam ain't involved and Venezuelan defeat of US military wont be like 'Nam or Iraq or Afghan, or Houthie defeats of US military.
That will be largely because none of those defeats involved any ethnic/foreign language group with any presence among US population, much less any presence in US military.
Imagine if the platoon of "Generation Kill" was 1/2 various Arab Muslims, with their primary loyalty to Islam and their Arab families and clans. That is what deploying USMC to Venezuela will be like. :) I can't wait for the Big Order to cum down, "No Talking In Anything But English" because 1/2 the USMC is whispering to each other in Spanish and NCOs and officers don't know WTF half their troops are whispering about, but it sure as fuck ain't about being on Team America.
Its a well known thing Cartels send guys into US military to get training, and no one has been able to defeat the Cartel tactic of ruthlessly targeting families.
