Even if we take away the subjective joy of physical media playback and collection, consider the following:
There are differences in mastering of digital releases and vinyl ones. While in theory digital media is superior, mastering on vinyl needs to deal with physical constraints of the media, such as fitting of the tracks and preventing needle skips, also vinyl listeners are in general more critical of the sound quality, which results in greater dynamic range. Despite 60-70 dB range availability of the analog media compared to 96dB of 16bit digital, the latter is simply compressed and abused to sound loud. I would always prefer a good vinyl rip to a digital release.
