I like them because I think they're the opposite. They're incredibly pathetic. They woke up from a drug-fueled binge the likes of which the universe has never seen to find their baby (the Eldar Empire) long dead and rather than face it they just dove back into the drugs so hard that they reached such new levels of addiction that their withdrawal symptoms now includes soul-death. A pathetic misery so grandiose and cowardly that they even needed to fetishize it to just function.

They're unapologetically the actual worst pieces of shit in the 40k universe, and I love it.
