Looks cool and he had time to build mystique before he falls into a sandy vagina. Phasma ontop of being kinda forced is punked in the same movie she's introduced as, you can't have your badass "Boba fett type" do nothing but be a middle manager, cowardly, and get thrown in the trash and expect people to think she's cool. What's extra dumb is they could've just used her in this scene.
