God, this takes me back to when I used horrid DOS trackers. I used to use one called Reality Adlib Tracker 2 that was even more wretched than this; you had to program all of the FM sounds yourself. It was so hard to make anything decent, and it was so goddamn ugly. I used it again a few years ago in DOSBox just to see if I could still use it. God damn, how did I ever use these?

Here are a few good old songs I enjoy -

The game itself is pretty bad, but some of the music is unreal. Falcom ~1987-1996 had very good music. Mieko Ishikawa and Yuzo Koshiro were behind a huge part of it, but a lot of the others were good too. Atsushi Shirakawa, Masaaki Kawai, Naoki Kaneda.

So was Randy Holden's absolutely incredible Population II. In fact, this song, Fruit and Icebergs, appeared on Blue Cheer's New! Improved! in 1969.

There's a lot of very special heavy music from the early 70s, but most of it was very heavily influenced by Black Sabbath. But Deep Purple, Randy Holden and a small group of certainly draw from some similar cosmic stardust.
