Once you've done that long enough to get some good concentration, switch to vipassana and observe the anicca/dukkha/anatta of all perceptions, using the Noting technique if you need to. When you get good at that, you will naturally release clinging to perceptions at the bare sensate level which frees up a ton of mental energy and is ultimately what leads to stream entry and beyond.
