The point is that humans are infinitely more capable of malice and feats of strength than this supposed super race of ants at the pinnacle of evolution. Next to humans the ants seem childish in their ambition to take over the world, along with their persistent inability to beat a human child in a board game. All it took was some human hunters and a single nuke to sort them all out. This wasn't an all-out war between two species, it was just pest control (humanity using 0.01% of its strength). Humanity isn't the real monster either. It's a story about a monster becoming human. Humanity being relaxed and caring reflects a truly higher state of evolution, where you are so strong you don't even worry about your enemies as they are merely ants to you.
