Well we begin another mildly-anticipated .UWT race and today we begin in the Netherlands for this otherwise Flandrian Renewi Tour. This mean it's time for another sensational edition of /WORLD TOUR WINE/ (bier) !!

Today's bier is in firm Flandrian soil, brewed in Evergem just a few km south of Dutch border. It states the secondary fermentation is done with a wine yeast (no idea what benefit this provides....) so I guess that fits with our overall gimmick theme.

Gulden Draak Classic Tripel ($10)

Pours a gorgeous transparent auburn with cream mousse, long-lasting. Nose is yeasty with bread, light banana, funky fruit and clove. Palate is sweet malt and fruit, pleasant bitter hops, light spice, a little lingering sweetness to the finish. Carbonation really lifts the 10.5% alcohol.

Very surprised how much I liked this, did not expect much. Very good.
