That's fair. I do think it's objectively lower quality than gens without it, since pixel art was initially born out of technical limitations. It'd be interesting to see how much appeal deliberately limited art styles have today though.

For instance, I actually like some of the styles you can get from "retro artstyle" and previous decades more than a modern anime style, though objectively more modern work tends to be higher resolution and such.
