Not as one of the characters, but sometimes it's nice to fantasize what would happen if you just got dropped as you are into a series' setting. A bit like daydreaming how you would get by if you were living in a medieval village, or what sort of job you would have had back then.

It's a different experience from creating an OC you like and writing/imagining a story about them, since it's more about trying to picture yourself in the situation and how you would realistically act and dress, which characters you would personally get along with (rather than necessarily the characters you like). Lot of fun, would recommend.
