The thing is, most men aren't scared, they have been told what they are doing is immoral and asked to stop, and they have.
It is one thing for women to laugh at someone they are rejecting, this is just a momentary social awkwardness. It is another to claim that man is a bad person, creepy, entitled, misogynists, oppressing women, bothering women, a monster, like a sex offender, like a pedophile. This changed the game. Women have been insisting on it for years and many of our favorite celebrities have been accused of being sexual predators. Every so often it makes news and we have stern reports telling us this person is a monster. We are constantly reminded women are disgusted by us and don't want us anywhere near them, especially if we find them attractive. What used to be something normal, for a man to find a woman attractive and ask her out, is now a grave sin.
You see it on /r9k/. One minute we are accused of being lazy and not going out more, the next we are told it is creepy for us to try to make friends and socialize or join a book club or something, in large part in the hopes of finding a gf. We are told to go outside, then we are told to go back inside, damned if we do, damned if we don't.
