About 1/4 of the SF6 population in year 1 was on Modern which is pretty impressive since every fg before or after SF6 that tried an optional simple input scheme got 0% of the playerbase to ever use it, examples being smart mode in cotw, easy mode in mvc, special style in tekken, and stylish from xrd. All of those attempts at Modern flopped except for SF6.
Also, while we haven't got official numbers since year 1 there was a user on the sf6 reddit tracking modern usage by character and noticed the numbers kept increasing from year 1 so it wouldn't surprise me if Modern usage for SF6 is closer to 1/3 now, especially after the SF6 switch 2 release.
And another cool factoid for you, in Japan the number of players on Modern that are at master rank out number the entire NA master playerbase. Japan loves Modern compared to every other region.

>Special style in Tekken 8 flopped.
>Smart Style is Cotw giga flopped.
>Stylish mode in xrd flopped so hard they didn't even bother adding it to strive.
>Auto mode in Alpha 1 & 2 never got used & flopped
>Easy mode in the MvC series never got used by anyone on planet earth, a massive flop.
>EO mode in CvS2 was such a colossal flop that it took like 20 years for Capcom to even attempt doing another simple mode in a SF game again.
Why didn't Modern Controls crash and burn like the others?
