I think I may have burnt my single direct report out
>was honest and told him layoffs are still ongoing so keep working hard
>just told him to sit tight and nod yes to everything, even the dumb requirements and just try to figure it out when we get to it.
>told him nothing we can do about RTO location and he's stuck commuting for an hour and a half every day
>tell him that I can't really do anything about his roadblockers because it's stuck with upper management
>I said we might be able to open a senior position with him a couple months ago but the whole layoff situation is looking awkward to re-engage that.
He's been looking pretty irate lately and most of my 1:1 discussion with me is just dead silent. Any way to fix things?
