Can somebody explain to me why the Japanese have such an obsession with trinkets? Phone charms, keychains, posters, etc for like every new show and movie that comes out. White women have new consumerist fads every month but I can't think of another culture that has such a fixation on the consumption of little plastic trinkets and shit.
