>they bring us to court a dozen at a time
>there's always at least 4 or 5 girls with us
>they generally try to keep the boys and girls as separate as possible
>guards take us up the elevator to court 4 at a time
>they let me ride the elevator with the girls to avoid repeating a trip due to odd numbers in group
>female guard jokes i look harmless
>all the girls laugh
>boy makes fun of me waiting outside of court saying i look like a girl
>one of the girls from the elevator says he's the one sitting with his legs crossed like a girl
>he goes quiet

asking me to be a boy wasn't fair. putting me in the boys unit was wrong. if i went on hormones at 14 like i wanted my voice never would have fully deepened.
