WONDERLAND CLUB RAIDS

- The Wonderland Club was an early internet forum for CP. It was heavily encrypted, using software used by the KGB, and members were required to provide unique content in order to gain access.
- Wonderland was eventually infiltrated by the FBI. Raids of members began on September 1 1999, the Ramsey grand jury investigation concluded on September 15 1999. The timing of this had led to speculation that FBI influence may have drawn out and/or suppressed the grand jury - which risked public revelation of a sex ring - in order to protect their sting operation.

Half an hour later, Joyce found an online story about a recent arrest in the area the informant had mentioned. The accused man was middle-aged, middle-class, sophisticated with computers, and had been taken into custody for numerous sexual crimes against children. He was incarcerated south of Los Angeles.
