I've used the standard resin to acrylic method to make a few things, eg lower jaw and dorsal spines for a Ral Partha dragon mini. There are some good videos out there that will walk you through the process.

For small pieces, I'd go with the two-stage silicone/resin, and take your time. Example attached _ i had to cast a lower jaw from an intact copy of a mini for an incomplete one. Took a few tries but worked OK eventually. Bubbles were a problem, honestly.
