do nip fujos not like purely BL gacha? nucarni seems decently popular in nipland and Eiden being male mc only hasn't deterred it's popularity. i can kinda undertsand that companies also want yume money but seeing how scarce yumes are because they haven't had any actual pandering in any games outside of otome on consoles is pretty scummy since they'll get nothing out of the fujobait.
true, nip women being treated like shit and brainwashed since birth to be doormats so they can be the "ideal housewife" has sadly been the norm until recent years. unfortunately that way of thinking also bled into how they write fem mcs with the blandest, submissive, and doormat personalities in their games. i can only name a handful of fem mcs in otome that are interesting as characters with strong personalities, it also may be the reason why otome "villainess" slop became so popular due to the mcs in those being presented as "misunderstood bad girls" compared to the wallflower rival...despite the fact that they make the og heroine evil so the "villainess" is actually the good girl anyways so it's pointless.
