I also headcanonned something similar to that. Since in Hildaverse you notice they kept the myth of “dead people on land rest in the grave, dead people at sea will never be at rest”. So it makes sense they’re like a child’s version of that, where they find shelter as part of a boat. Never thought of making them part of the masthead though, i really like that addition, it’s a good idea for why they’d make those!
I think this would make for a seriously great episode. Probably one where Hilda wants to get a Klabauterman to fix Woodman’s ship to take them on an adventure
