XIV is probably the only game I've played where, when the devs casualize and neuter something to make it trivial to do, the casuals blame it on the hardcore players instead of themselves

Imagine if Valve removed rocket jumping from TF2 because of casuals crying about getting pubstomped, and then the casuals complain and say that the pubstompers were the ones begging for rocket jumping to be removed. This happens in XIV literally every single patch.

That's what I'm expecting to happen. The best devs on their most profitable MMORPG all being simultaneously moved off of their current project to work on another one... wouldn't be surprised if it was built off of FF16.
