This is nothing new.
In 2017 the idea of adding nipples to blu-rays was already out of fashion, as seen in this mangaka's recollection about Konohana Kitan (the manga tankoubons had nipples so she wanted the anime BDs to have them too, but the anime producer said no).
Of course, male nipples are perfectly fine.
