She's just a really awkward people pleaser who gets in her own way, and the show has made it known that a lot of the other characters have trouble trusting her as a result. They think she's fake, but really she just doesn't know what she wants because she spends more time worrying about what everyone else wants in the hope that everyone else doesn't hate her.
She's not SUPER complicated, but she has a realistic struggle a lot of us deal with. I also just think she's hot in a weird motherly way.
