Sure, but we're straying a bit from the original question ("Is Minthara being a little hypocritical or inconsistent here?") at this point, if we start dealing with could-haves and maybes. I would argue that Minthara is a little hypocritical, but not inconsistent. The idea of Minthara caring more for either Shadowheart or Lae'zel, which might explain the perceived inconsistency, feels a little off. The way I see it, what she disapproves of isn't necessarily Lae'zel's renouncing of her lich queen - the similarity to her renouncing of Lolth would be immediately apparent - but openly defying Vlaakith and essentially throwing oil on the fire, inviting danger. It's the recklessness of it that she calls childish, not the admirable idea of going against a (would-be) goddess. Drow are ruthless like gith but also no strangers to subterfuge and deception like Sharrans, so it's amusing to me that Minthara has a bit of Lae'zel and Shadowheart in her.
