To what extent are the properties of sausage transitive? I only need to taste a tiny nugget of breakfast or italian sausage to know I'm eating sausage.

Traditionally a sausage is a cylinder with hemispherical ends. If you cut the ends off, is it not still a sausage? And if you were to slice that truncated sausage, either longitudinally or transversely, would those slices not still be sausage? If not, does the round slice become a burger? Does the square slice become something different still? I say no. Sausage is an intrinsic and intensive property.
