>Exactly. People who talk about joining the military = dying are absolute retards, desk job
people will make fun of you endlessly using it because it's low hanging fruit and failure to accept that dynamic of The Banter is the lamest way to get washed out

>I might as well take advantage of the military as it's a glorified jobs program now.
you can but take it from me who did exactly that: it's very slow to get anything done for you that has high Return On Resume, and often the things that *look* high RoR are not so in the real world.

and as for the clearance thing that was me and honestly I used to think the same and apply to jobs in confidence that it was a genuine help; I have been informed by a place I got a start date that this is not the case and they do not have access to the same systems the military does, so the paperwork has to be redone. it should progress faster (after all if you have an active clearance why would you get denied in re-applying) but it's a pain in the ass and not necessarily free (since there may have been Developments of Sorts since you got that clearance and have to reapply/renew, at the very least costing you valuable time)

that said if you're dead set on le spess forerc memery, who knows, you might just find a long and fulfilling career there and not even need to use it to scam lockheed or northrup later. personally, if my job offer falls through i was thinking of taking some time to remuster to cyber nonsense in my own cunt due to similar new developments in our trade structure
