They just keep doing it. Another month of updates and the crafting somehow got more interlocked and convoluted.
The basic primitive crafting is locked behind maintenance, the blacksmithing is locked behind carpentry which itself locked behind nails, you probably can't even start a fire with primitive foraging.

8 months later, and they have only made it worst.
