Using charts and tier lists to cope is an incorrect use. The proper use of a chart and/or tier list is to assist in character choice. If you're considering multiple characters and one of them happens to perform much better in general, it may be wise to pick that character as opposed to the others.

If you're settled on a main and don't want to change in spite of relative character weakness or strength, then the chart is useless to you. Or if tier position isn't a primary concern for you when choosing a character, that also makes the charts/tier lists useless.

If you look at a list and complain about someone being top tier on it but don't swap to that character, you're just being a big baby.
