A New Wish only brought back AJ because they wanted to virtue signal online about how they were using a black voice actor to voice a black character. His design sucked too, especially compared to his other future counterpart in Channel Chasers.
Vicky was also a half-hearted cameo and they intentionally gave her a ridiculous costume to hide her adult curves. She should've been Dev's mom, dropped the ball bigly there. It felt like they had no idea what to do with the character.

I really don't trust modern day (((Cartoonists))) with giving a good age up design. Tootie would probably have be obese with a sidecut and Trixie would be fully trooned out. But doomposting aside, they could've easily been shown or cameo'd in ANW without outright revealing their marriage status. The cameos that did come all just felt boring and lazy, like Anti-fairies, and Foop's redesign sucked ass too. Only really Poof/Peri was handled right.
