The other anon got to it first, but I did choose that picture to represent how convoluted the red yarn is spiderwebbing across the corkboard.
The IRA started off as nationalist and religious (Catholics, duh) but there was a split precisely due to the Marxist influence. And even then the Troubles largely kept everything more or less together because people with different opinions could unite over the common goal of kicking the Brits out. When things cooled down and Sinn Féin started debating abortion and gay rights of course a ton of people went "this isn't the reason I joined" and left. A bunch of regular guys wanted to protect their community or were pretty gassed up about taking pot shots at Brits but were largely "apolitical". >All the insane woke shit is what happens when the commie psyop machine created by the Soviets is left running with no one to direct it, or at least, no single sane person.
Exactly. An ideological dead-hand device. When you start applying critical theory to everything, and anyone criticizing you can be dismissed as racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, etc everything spins out of control. The Soviets could dismiss the craziest shit as Western degeneracy or bourgeois nonsense and shut it down.
