It felt like a bit of missed potential and we seemingly didn't make a pact with him. But as for my theory might as well say it since this Ch. seemingly confirms it in my opinion


My theory was this is a simulation, a game within a game within a game, basically this entire thing is purely fiction even in game context. Since ch9 about light being data memories are data/light. Curren calling Mono and herself terminals Smoky mentioning the start of the game where we choose our preferences Fuxi and Cato talking to us the player. I will say Fuxi's talk to us was actually sweet. I even thought back in Ch6 when Alice slipped up and said 24 souls instead of 23 I did think she might be referring to us the player. And if it's actually 100% a game in a game pure fiction situation then like Fuxi I can't find the words express how I feel about that
