War is pretty hard and unless you use nukes, Russia is just like any other larger country needing to use ordinary military equipment and people.

To win a conventional war, you need 1:3 or even 1:4 in troops strength or superiority in materials.

Russia is at 1:2 in troops strength strength at the front and it is on the same level in most weapons except for artillery where it has 3 times more shells and when it comes to glide bombs. As tanks have been pretty useless, Russia's numerical strength in tanks does not give it an edge. Ultimately this is currently a drone and artillery war.
