1.0 story is kinda shit and a slog.
It starts getting better when you meet Scar but it only REALLY gets better ahen you finish it and move to Mt. Firmament and Black Shores.
The increase in quality between 1.0 and 2.0 is like going from Genshin Impact 1.0 to Elden Ring.
