They're incredibly inaccurate in comparison with sensors that mount right on your chest, that's why they aren't really used by athletes, so why even bother?
I just have a simple gshock like picrel for tracking time, and it's study, I bump it into other shit all the time and it still holds up.
Shit like Garmin is only useful to people who really need GPS tracking with a long ass battery life, no one uses them for their heartrate and other bs sensors. I have a gymbuddy who does rafting and kayaking, he uses maxed out garmin tactix when he's on his trips, but when he's in the gym he also wears a gshock, although a bit fancier.
