I think the cause and effect is backwards here, people start mashing when there's too much redundant dialogue, so I don't think the solution is to pad things even more. That way you're basically training people to think that most of it is unimportant. I did the Paralogism quest yesterday and I very much just mashed through the courtroom stuff, but I did start following it towards the end when it actually started getting interesting. But on the other hand, I guess if the start hadn't had you teleporting back and forth for thirty minutes, it would have been a very short quest
The Soul Reaver thing was actually pretty fun to follow though, and had a better balance between gameplay and dialogue
