>Be 18 years old in rural New England town
>Friends and I are going through a ghost hunting phase
>Pretty much just wander around random graveyards at night to scare ourselves
>Nothing spooky ever happens, scariest encounter is the police showing up and having to run away.
>One night I go alone with my girlfriend to a local cemetery. It's a warm August night, not a cloud in the sky, not so much as a breeze.
>Uneventful night, we just do a few laps around the perimeter.
>Notice pic-related, the mausoleum, toward the back of the cemetery.
>We walk up to it, see the door is broken. We consider going inside but are too spooked.
>We walk behind the mausoleum to the darkest corner of the cemetery. We sit there and enjoy the spooky atmosphere. Very romantic.
>Decide it's been thrilling enough and decide to leave before cops show up or other trouble finds us.
>All night it's been clear skies, not so much as a gust of wind. It's a calm, quiet and warm August night.
>Out of nowhere, a humongous deafening BOOM. Not like a clap of thunder, but like a tremendous explosion. Not distant, either, but like it's right on top of us. Not from any direction, almost as if we're inside of it. We both scream in terror.
>A tremendous and relentless wind erupts. Years later I was in Florida during a hurricane, and that's the closest I've ever felt or heard to wind that powerful.
> Wind is blowing so loudly that I have to scream for my girlfriend to hear me.
>I shout "LET'S GO".
>She is on her knees literally sobbing and catatonic (women, am I right?). I grab her arm and start dragging her. I continue to scream at her as the wind absolutely shrieks.
>She eventually gets to her feet and we sprint back to the car.
>Almost as soon as we exit the cemetery, the wind suddenly stops. It is back to the same silent, calm night. Not a cloud in the sky, not a hint of the chaos that just unfolded.
>We go home and tell people about it. Nobody believes the story
