>The SBU carried out a strike on the Gazprom Ust-Luga gas processing complex. The hardest hit was the key part of the plant — the cryogenic fractionation unit.

This unit can rightfully be called the “heart” of the entire complex. It is here that gas condensate is separated into individual components. Afterward, they are either exported or used as feedstock for producing valuable products such as ethylene and other polymers at the Baltic Gas Chemical Complex.

The Ust-Luga plant is one of the largest in Europe. Its capacity allows the processing of up to 45 billion cubic meters of natural gas annually. It also produces 13 million tons of LNG, 3.6 million tons of ethane, and 1.8 million tons of propane-butane per year. Damage to such a critical facility will have significant consequences.
