Decided to check out the finalists for the contest I applied to and literally all of them were paintings and only two weren't in color.
I was disappointed at first but then I realized "Oh wait the judges were clearly always leaning towards oil painting in color as winners" when I had just submitted a monochrome ink drawing.
Which is fine and all it wasn't very good but why not specify that "Actually any medium isn't allowed it's guaranteed to be only in color oil painting that can be a winner."
Why lie to us like that? Imagine being a judge from some big art org and you just go "Wait did this idiot really submit a drawing while everyone else is throwing up big oil painting self portraits? You couldn't have just saved me the humiliation?
