Pods unlock after LB7. The game gives you access to a map with several very high difficulty farming nodes (with quite lucrative rewards) but they consume what's called a "storm pod" to run once. The game gives you 3 storm pods daily at reset and you can only hold a max of 9 at once, so you need to farm the high difficulty nodes three times a day or nine times every three days.
