In simple terms, Archimedes was the antagonist of the game and Liz was also working for the same force as him, leading to them being on the same team. He's obviously a purely rational guy and Liz's repeated retarded actions keep fucking up his plans leading to him hating her. Liz basically does things her way without him knowing one last time and he just goes fucking ballistic because the entire game he has been thwarted by things caused by human emotions. I'd recommend playing it since it explains Quantum Time Locks pretty clearly, and it's how Archimedes has been keeping up with his plan after every fuck-up (he essentially jumps timelines to try again).
