Well it draws a lot of cards but it doesn't win with them right away. It doesn't have extra turns or overruns like Edric does so it mostly just chips until it can get an overwhelming advantage with grey merchant or exsanguinate, and it doesn't have the ramp to turbo those out into a win.

An exaggeration maybe, but I assume you don't know what Gix does. Read the card and figure out why drawing 7-12 cards each turn isn't that hard.
