Going to say this as someone who's also had his fair share of personal issues: It's best to get used to expressing yourself more before looking for a partner. I get that you're trying to be honest about doing your best despite your flaws. If you have no hobbies and are chronically depressed + aimless, but still full of love and care, I think the best way to show you're truly committed to the idea is to pick up something that has to do with helping others. I agree too. The difference I highlight is that things like touch, validation, and socialization are necessary for a human animal and men largely need to do completely without or expend an extreme amount of effort (depending on socioeconomic privilege or genetics) to obtain.

The women you see on 4chan aren't necessarily entering every conversation with the intent to form a long term relationship because we know most of the men won't be good for that. They do it because it provides immediate gratification for basic human needs like socialization, validation, etc. So they receive 100 friend requests, they selectively reply to the most validating and pleasurable ones, and once their basic, human need for interaction is satisfied, they can freely let them go without worry. If they need physical intimacy, they can get it from women (non-sexual or non-romantic) where men largely do not or cannot touch each other, or from short-term relations that are easily accessible purely to relieve the need for physical intimacy, without worrying about long-term relationships.
You don't need to be in lockstep with someone else for the act of being wanted by them to provide relief, relief that the vast majority of men simply do not have access to at all.

True, though men don't have the same level of interpersonal relations that women have. Intimacy between males and family is usually much more limited in scope, and men tend to have less intimate friendships and this is reflected in how much more poorly men fare after breakups and divorce.
