Have any guys noticed that the female posters in these threads are almost impossible to talk to? I don't mean ignoring friend requests or messages when they're being swarmed or obvious catfish, I mean just a basic ability to hold a conversation without being immediately snide or insulting just because you're a male, even when you don't mention anything romantic or sex-related.

I know the decent, normal-ish women here generally lurk instead of posting, but it's so aggravating going through this over and over. What do they get out of it?

If it is any woman between the age of 18 to 23ish posting, odds are they will exactly be like that. They are at the peak of their lives and they know it, so they are going to have a crazy high ego alongside huge expectations for the men that add them. If you're not instantly entertaining/interesting and they know you're a man, why should they interact with you positively when they probably got a million other adds from other, potentially more entertaining, men.

Basically, they see you as lesser until you "prove" otherwise. Young women are a high commodity on /soc/ and there will be dozens of men pursuing one woman. Older women who post are generally better to talk to. Generally.

I would argue that's what they want, at least on a subconscious level, if they aren't aware of it. Nearly every woman I've talked to from /soc/ has some form of mental illness alongside coming from an abusive household.

This is exactly my experience, occasionally I'll see a female post that seems vaguely intellectual, clearly has some thought put into it and doesn't come off as hugely entitled or seethe with hatred of men, but in private they're just exactly as rude and insulting anyway (and again, often immediately). They're the ones I really don't get, because they clearly have the self-awareness to know how bad it looks to air all that out in their posts but still apparently have the same shitty mindset
