Just curious. ever since batsoup went global, i've spent a lot of time watching but mostly listening (like a podcast) to old stuff that I remembered fondly from my elementary school years. I'd say basically all of the old things I remembered liking were vindicated on rewatching (for yogscast (and a few other channels), there's a lot of shit i watched as a kid that I will never touch with a 10 foot pole). As it happens I'm rewatching the TDD divinity 1.
Starting and after 2014 there's definitely a general drop in quality for most stuff, with blips yogsquest & the first year of games night. sips and hat films I'd exclude from that statement (although Sips' disinterest in doing long playthroughs definitely forms a void. i remember as a kid it made me really mad, but I finally watched the gmod stuff in ~2023 and really liked it, although again, I still ponder on what could have been if he continued skyrim and the few long playthroughs like cities or fallout 1 didn't just cease. Now in my 20s I definitely realize juggling all of the things on top of being a husband, dad, and an individual forces one to need to make choices on what to not do).
Regarding shat(t) films (and yogs in general), obviously I don't really watch new stuff. But even though I don't find most of the stuff appealing, I'm happier that they're at least afloat given the fucking times. I don't doubt the jews at google always had the ousting of old, "edgy" channels (not aligned with whatever global finance wants) in their plan, but no one will ever convince me that pewdiepie bridge incident immediately bringing about the adpocalypse was a perfect excuse for them to accelerate ruining what little fun we have left in this hellscape.
