It's not the tournament's fault, but the Hoster.
I'm sure that many Palmeiras would like to go and watch Palmeiras but they won't even try to go because of the difficulty of entering the USA today.
The Palmeiras fans packed Qatar, they would easily go to the USA.
Now to host an international tournament in a country that locally doesn't like the sport and won't let anyone in to watch is stupid.

It's the first iteration of the tournament and I already predict there will be massive changes for the next one.
>Zero hype from the fans.
>High ticket prices, and low demand
>Huge cash prizes for the clubs, yet they had huge issues selling the broadcasting rights.
>Players and managers don't really want another competition in a already filled to the brim year calendar with a huge risk of injuries.
>Played in the USA where most games will probably have empty stands since people aren't really willing to travel there at this time of the year.

It's a huge mess, I have no idea how they'll fix it, IF they can even fix it.

DAZN paid $1 billion for the broadcasting rights. It emerged a couple of weeks later that the Saudis had invested $1 billion in DAZN around the time the broadcasting deal was made with FIFA. This is the same Saudi Arabia that got awarded the 2030 FIFA World Cup unopposed. The Saudis' sovereign wealth fund is also a sponsor of the tournament and they own one of the clubs shoehorned into the tournament by FIFA. As ever with FIFA, the whole thing is grimy as fuck.

No, Inter Miami has both a shit ton of people who will watch Messi even if he's playing in the Zimbabwe league and a strong fan presence...in Miami, the only groups that follow outside of it are the Messi ones.
The issue with this cup is that the whole format is a fucking mess, that you have to pay way too much in travelling to watch whats at best 3 games from your club (if it was selected) and that the tickets were originally 460 American eagles, thats right, 460 dollars.
Also the whole inmigration issue, and tired players + academy players no one heard of getting game time to rest those players so the teams will have less appeal to show off (mostly talking about the European ones) and just...its all so badly composed and managed, and it was announced suddenly and then released as just as much of a surprise and it feels like the whole thing was planned in like 2 minutes in an elevator talk and they didnt progress further from there.

But because of our weird playoff system you could say Miami was the "real" champions of the last season being the supporter's shield winners

You can also see as:
"$4 to watch ICE operations live.
You can also watch Messi walking in the field for 45-60 minutes but this is not the main event.
Instead of the WAVE you will watch THE RUN; people running for their comfy lifes in america trying to avoid being captured and sent to EL SALVADOR.
There would be a high likelihood of riots post match and you may need to return back to your country or state for safety reasons."

Technically the host country can decide how to allocate that last spot however they feel like.
In practice, there's a reason why it wasn't announced that the winner of the supporter's shield would get that classification until Inter Miami had gotten it. Infantino of course hopes Messi's image will help sell the tournament.
