Australia has the Olympics in 2032, they'll probably have a lot of things on at night there like they did in 2000. With soccer they can easily have night matches which will be in the morning in Europe and earlier afternoon matches which will be night in the Americas.
It's also closer to Chinese timezone which could significantly increase viewership, more than offsetting whatever casuals they lose from Europe.
I really don't think it's a bad timezone if done correctly, matches could start at 5/8/11am here

But FIFA wouldn't let them host it, because we NEED 120 teams and international travels now. So they added Paraguay and Argentina to the bid. But since Saudi Arabia, the Mecca of world football had to host a world cup ASAP, FIFA had to choose between pushing either Uruguay-Argentina-Mexico or Portugal-Spain-Morocco. The former would definitely not be happy with this arrangement, so Infantino threw them a bone to get them to shut up.
