True. In the past, when I used to picture a Frenchman, I'd always imagine a dark-haired, olive-skinned Med, not too dissimilar to a stereotypical Italian. But in recent years, I've been watching a lot of French movies and most of them don't look like that at all. It's just as common for them to be quite pale and fair-haired. I'm not even entirely sure where the image of the swarthy Frenchman came from, tbqh.
