They will pretend it was a major success and a revolution anyway. And I actually believe some of them will think it to actually be the case, that’s how far up their own asses they are
Infantino won‘t suffer any repercussions. Depending on how hard it fails, it will be quietly dropped without a word in one to three iterations
For the time being, they will sell it as a huge success and use tons of little camera and marketing tricks to make it look that way

There is a a reason they wanted to kill Intercontinental and it's prestige by saying it was not a real tourney and it wasn't recognized by them. Truth is the only interesting part about this tourney is the money that clubs will receive in prizes

It's a roudabout bribe from the Saudi's to get the 2034 World Cup.

They "invested" 1bn into Dazn, who instantly paid that to FIFA for the broadcasting rights.

It has been already reported that the ticket sales were low and that they're already lowering the prices of tickets.
It was a nightmare to sell the TV rights to broadcasters since FIFA was asking for a lot of money and no one wanted to spend that much, so I have no doubt that FIFA ended up lowering the price by a lot.

I'm 100% certain that this first iteration of this competition will be far different from the 2nd, because I bet FIFA will lose money with this.

Imagine how hyped you‘d be if a Pakistani club were to make it to the prestigious CWC, Sajid!
European clubs will not give a shit beyond wanting the price money. No matter how money they slap onto it, it will always lack prestige and be a nuisance as a season break tournament. Bayern is taking various talents and loan players with them. The number of people who want to see a big European club’s B team play against some non-yuro club is low. Making the tournament comparatively available was a smart (and very much necessary) move, though. A shame good access is wasted on this trash while all the real competitions require multiple pay-TV offers
I am all for intercontinental competition, and I wouldn’t mind what is now the Intercontinental Cup being a bigger thing. But the CWC idea with the four year cycle is retarded af from start to finish, and plenty of people won’t care more about it than the ICC

England took part in 1950 already, meaning you missed the first three editions. That's not enough to excuse the poor results overall. 1930 and 1950 happen to be the most clown-esque tournaments since they had fewer than the envisioned 16 participants, meaning some teams only had two group games. In 1930, all of the British Isles as well as Spain, Germany, Italy and the historically strong nations of Hungary, Czechoslovakia, and Austria didn't attend. In 1950, all of Europe was in ruins after WW2, multiple teams refused to show up again, Germany was banned, and the Italian team had a literal plane crash kill most of their squad
But to get to your comparison: we live in a very different time compared to 1930. The situation isn't comparable, and the World Cup quickly proved a success despite the world being much harder to travel back then. It filled a gap, as it was the first global football event after the very differently organized Olympics. The CWC is something entirely different, it has none of the perks of the World Cup
