I remember being devastated after Germany lost in the semifinals, and I remember watching the final on my dad‘s lap. I couldn’t bear to watch the final penalty, so I asked him to tell me whether it had gone in. We had had spaghetti that evening.
I was barely old enough to enter a football club, it was a great time for my friends and me. Even as a small kid, there’s a bit of extra atmosphere when your country hosts the World Cup

i was beyond pissed at the time, i thought it was a complete breach of fairness. I went to bed very angry

Vaguely remember watching some of the euro 88 matches with my pops. 1st one where i remember parts of the matches was 90 WC. I think the final was the one where the german defender took the winning PK with his opposite foot.

I vaguely remember the 2002 world cup. I don't think I watched many of the games because I was 7 and the games were at night though. But I had some family living in Japan at the time which I think boosted our families interest.
the "tournament" I really remember following and what gave me my love for international sports that I have to this day is the 2006 Winter Olympics, I remember watching for an hour before school every day, the flying tomato was my hero.
Then the 2006 world cup I also remember watching.
