Coverage starts at 12:00pm UK time on Sky Sports Action with the evening session from 6:00pm on the same channel. The quarter-finals and semi-finals are the best of 15 legs (first to 8), and the final is the best of 19 legs (first to 10).

Love the world cup

Where do you start with what we've just seen? How about in leg 1 where Daryl Gurney's 130 checkout for a 12 darter ignited what will surely be the greatest pairs match that will ever occur in darts. Both Northern Irishmen and both Welshmen (yes, even the normally placid Jonny Clayton) constantly exploded in roars and swagger in a match that had everything but a 9 darter and a punch-up.

Man of the Tournament Josh Rock and Superchin went 3-1 up averaging way over 100 before a superb Ferret 142 for 3-2 got the classic Gerwyn Price roar treatment. Gurney's blunder on DD18 to lead 5-4 put the Welsh ahead but a Rocky rescue sent it level at the second interval.

Wales hit back-to-back legs, but the title turner was in leg 13 where NI made a complete mess from 76 down but crucially their opponents could not check out. Shades of prime 2017-2019 Gurn emerged with two huge last dart finishes to go 9-7 up, but both Daryl and Josh missed darts to win and a classic Clayton 70 caused a last leg shootout. A 134-180-171-MissD8 later and Northern Ireland at long last became World Cup champions. A first TV title for Josh Rock and incredibly a perfect 3/3 for Daryl Gurney, who had not won ANY PDC title since 21st September 2019. Is a Chin career revival on the cards? Who can say. One thing's for sure though: Ulster darts is Unionist! Spare a thought for Messrs Dolan and Mansell...

/180/ returns properly on 19th July for the pilgrimage to Blackpool's Winter Gardens for the World Matchplay.
